If you do one thing in town, make it the Bollon Heritage Centre. Nestled in the heart of the main street, it's easy to spend the afternoon retracing Bollon's history. Even the keenest history buff will be pleasantly surprised by the range of artefacts and stories that narrate the town's rural history and Aboriginal culture. Be sure to check out the momentos of visiting politicians displayed on the walls.

Bollon State School has a small but active Parents and Citizens (P&C) association. The P&C meets each month - please check the newsletter for times. P&C members do need to be registered for their votes to count, so anyone interested in joining our school P&C association should complete the P&C membership form (DOC, 35 KB) and return it to the school office. One of the things the P&C manages for the school is the uniform shop.

Care Balonne Association Inc. was established in 1994 and is primarily an information and referral service covering the whole of the Balonne Shire, based in the town of St George. Our vision is to be recognised as a progressive organisation that aspires to increase the viability of our community by being aware of the community needs and develoing strategies to meet these needs.

As the social services agency of the Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba, CatholicCare provides a range of counselling and mediation services.

The local Lions Club runs Containers for Change. The depot is open Thursday 3-5pm and Friday 3-5pm and Saturday 8-5pm

Dirranbandi Branch covers the areas of Dirranbandi and Hebel, located on the QLD/NSW border. We are proud to be the 2nd formed branch in Queensland 1971.

South west of St George, Dirranbandi is a small country town that comes alive through the cotton harvest months. If you have heard of the famous Cubbie Station, then you will be interested to know that the largest irrigated cotton farm in the southern hemisphere is only a stone's throw away from this small town. As you drive into Dirranbandi, you'll pass by the town's levee bank which is famous for having saved the town from flooding on more than one occasion.

Our Parents and Citizen Association hold meetings during each school term in the school conference room. The Association runs a tuckshop for students once a week. This is staffed by a paid convenor and volunteers.

Golden West Apprenticeships is a Not for Profit organisation and coordinates the entire traineeship/apprenticeship process including compliance with legislative requirements and administration of paperwork including payroll, superannuation and worker’s compensation.

Indigicare Connect is a company which has been operational for the past 4 years. Director, Jennie Waters, is a Kamilaroi woman with extensive family ties across southern Queensland and North West NSW. During this time the company has provided health care services and education (Indigenous chronic disease; Indigenous mental health) across the Darling Downs and South West Queensland.Indigicare Connect aids the community in Indigenous Chronic Disease Care, Outreach work, Gaba Healing programs, GP support, NDIS support and Cultural Safety Training.

Lifeline Darling Downs & South West Qld Ltd  is a community based organisation providing an array of counselling and community services.
These include Family & Child Connect, St George Youth Support Program, IAS Tracks to Success, My Connections My Way, and Safe Connections.

Lifeline operate a store in St George.  We sell a range of items including clothing, books, furniture and collectables.
Our customers continue to enjoy access to affordable, quality items that have the added bonus of giving back to the local community.
Customers are assured that the money they are spending is supporting local employment and training opportunities as well as providing funds which allow us to provide community services such as family counselling.

ICPA (Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association) is a volunteer, apolitical organisation committed to ensuring equity of access to education for regional, rural and remote students. The St. George branch meets four times a year and welcomes any interested families to come along and find out what ICPA is all about.
